Tail End Charlie

Heather paddles past a guillemot colony on the Isle of Portland

“That was the easiest paddling trip that I’ve ever done”.

Heather has just acquired a composite sea kayak, after years of paddling a plastic Capella. For the first time in memory, she was out front, rather than out back.

    Heather,
I love new gear! Well done on your new boat, may you have many happy paddles. Are you going to name her?

    Mark,
I also love good photos and this one is beautifully composed and exposed. :o)

In honour of its first trip with her, Heather suggested that she was going to call her boat ‘Bill’.

    Heather,
how would you compare your old Capella RM to your new boat (I am trying to justify getting a composite rather than a plastic boat and although the sheer beauty of them is almost enough it is nice to get other peoples first hand opinions… especially as you have only just changed over!!).

    Rog.

About

During 2006-8 I researched, photographed and wrote a sea kayaking guide to the South West of England; from the Bristol Channel to the Isle of Wight. I have used this blog to keep folk updated as to my progress and to reveal some of the wonderful scenery, culture and wildlife of this little corner of England.
