The Cult of Personality

Dancing Ledge, Purbeck, Dorset

Dancing Ledge is a rock platform on the Purbeck coast in Dorset. This ‘beach’ was created when quarrying removed the cliffs above. Close by are colonies of cormorants, razorbills and puffins.

From the water, the Dancing Ledge looks like soft sand. Don’t be deceived, send somebody else’s kayak to land first.

Addendum: My meteoric rise to fame and glory is finally complete. There are absolutely no further challenges to overcome in my life. I’ve reached the top. That’s it. I’ve made it. Finished. I now feature on seakayakroutes.com, rambling on about the Purbeck coast.

About

During 2006-8 I researched, photographed and wrote a sea kayaking guide to the South West of England; from the Bristol Channel to the Isle of Wight. I have used this blog to keep folk updated as to my progress and to reveal some of the wonderful scenery, culture and wildlife of this little corner of England.
