Compiling a guidebook isn’t all glamour, fast cars and parties. I’ve spent this entire weekend working my way through information on campsites. For each of 50 chapters, I have researched and checked dozens and dozens of telephone numbers, grid references, accessibility from the sea etc. If this sounds even slightly interesting, take my word for it, it wasn’t. Watching paint dry would have been an engaging alternative. I’ve never been so bored in my life, and I teach History for a living.
However, on the bright side … no, there isn’t a bright side.

Know the feeling spent this afternoon and this evening sorting photos, hundreds and hundreds……….What did you tweak in this photo or what setting was it on?
I just got hold of a graduated grey filter, I was randomly trying it out to see what would happen.
The result in this photo is quite unpleasant really, I think the best time to use it is when you have a huge difference in dynamic range from top to bottom of the photo …
Just think how appreciative your readers will be at the end of a days paddling
Thought it rude to try and tempt you away from the book, but dartmoor was peachy today. Looking forward to adventuring next week, hope the weather clears up.
Don’t think you have my sympathy…….you’re spending next week (in fact the next 6) paddling with mates, I’m going on holiday with the mother in law. STOP WINGEING!
