Heather and I - self-portrait!

Well, I’m not sure what this has to do with sea kayaking (or the south west), but we simply wanted to thank paddlers Kevin and Alice for giving their friends the most wonderful weekend imaginable. The following photos should give a random flavour of events through their wedding weekend.

Incidentally, Iceland lived up to its name this weekend, with the ambient temperature as low as minus-16 degrees celsius during the day. I quite fancy returning for some sea kayaking, but it’ll need to be a bit warmer.

  1. Looks like everyone had a fantastic time. Nice photos. I think I have visited two of the places in your photos: Skogafoss and Vik church. I remember the coastline being pretty impressive around Vik.
Did you get a chance to see Gullfoss and the geysers?

Went to Iceland in August 1999. The temperature never got above 12 C even in August.

  2. Hi Andy. That is Skogafoss but the church is not at Vik, but at Oddi.

We did indeed do the other sights that you mentioned.

  3. It looks like a very nice weekend, well done Alice and Kevin

  4. Looks fantastic, I’m gutted that we couldn’t join everyone for it. I look forward to hearing the stories at the weekend, especially Kev’s explaination for what looks like a speeding ticket!

  5. Looks amazing- I can’t wait to see all the other photos and hear the stories at the weekend. And as expected, Alice looks stunning! As does everyone else, obviously… Mind you, -16° in that dress, Brrrrrrr!

  6. What a fantastic wedding! I love the photos of the illuminations.
