I was nowhere near the coast, this last weekend. However, I did find myself wandering over salt water, past Britain’s busiest lifeboat station.
It’s years since I paddled these waters; looking forward to paddling them again in a few weeks.

About this blog
'South West Sea Kayaking' is the title of a guidebook I researched, photographed and wrote in 2007-8. The guidebook covers the incredible South West coast from the Isle of Wight to the Severn Estuary. An updated Second Edition was published in 2011.- My wife and I are currently working on a number of projects; a guide to Britain's coastal environment, provisionally entitled 'Savage Shores', part of an upcoming guidebook to Britain's South East coast and an update to a whitewater guidebook to England. We both regularly write and photograph for magazines and other publications.
- This blog is simply a record of adventures and experiences along the way.
