Corfe Castle by moonlight   3 comments

Paddled along the Purbeck coast last night between 9 pm and midnight, in brilliant moonlight. The cliffs were lit up extraordinarily brightly, allowing us to experience a very familiar place in a totally unfamiliar way. Away from the full moon in the shadows and caves, phosphorescence sparkled.

All I took was this photo on the way home, sorry.

  1. terrific photo! What was the exposure.. just out of interest?

  2. I honestly *don’t* think it’s a great photo – completely failed to capture the amazing unearthly moonlight. Taken propped on the car bonnet – focus set to infinity, F11, aperture priority – shutter time took about 30 secs. Turned the saturation up in PhotoShop a bit.
